Ipad : les raisons d’un succès
Vu chez Gizmodo, la vision d’Alan Kay sur la sortie prochaine de l’Ipad.
Alan Kay est une référence dans le monde de l’informatique. C’est à lui que l’on doit la déclaration suivante en 1970 :
« In the 1990s there will be millions of personal computers. They will be the size of notebooks today, have high-resolution flat-screen reflexive displays, weigh less than ten pounds, have ten to twenty times the computing and storage capacity of an Alto. Let’s call them Dynabooks. »
Sa vision de l’information en 1970 fut étonnamment précise !
Mais cela devient plus intéressant encore par la suite. Alan Kay a déclaré, avant la présentation de l’Ipad au monde entier, la chose suivante :
« When the Mac first came out, Newsweek asked me what I [thought] of it. I said: Well, it’s the first personal computer worth criticizing. So at the end of the presentation, Steve came up to me and said: Is the iPhone worth criticizing? And I said: Make the screen five inches by eight inches, and you’ll rule the world. »
« …Et j’ai dit : faite un appareil ayant un écran de 5 pouces par 8 pouces (1 pouce = 2,64 cm) et vous dirigerez le monde »
